  • Kane County Sheriff’s Office is urging local drivers to drive sober, buckle up, and follow traffic laws this Halloween because children and families will be out for candy after dark. The message will be supported by a state campaign—It’s Not a Game—that highlights safe driving and advises planning a sober ride home.  Kane County Chronicle
  • Local airfields in northern Illinois are operating normally despite the federal government shutdown. Airport managers and FAA controllers at Greater Kankakee, Joliet Regional, Morris Municipal, Lewis University, DuPage, and Aurora Municipal reported no delays—despite some controllers not being paid.  Kane County Chronicle
