The Aurora Riverboat Casino is closing today in preparation for the new $360 million Hollywood Casino Aurora opening on June 24 (at 2500 N. Farnsworth Ave.). Unused chips can be cashed in at the new location as demolition of the historic vessel paves the way for city redevelopment.
Nearly a dozen fire agencies in Kane County received state grants to purchase firefighting and ambulance equipment ranging from $17,670 to $26,000 as part of a $6 million program by the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office to 260 departments statewide; Gov.
