- ➤ Over 3,000 Illinois workers received layoff notices under the WARN Act in the past 90 days — 103 of those affected work at Compass Group in Aurora while other companies like Baker and Taylor LLC and Brookdale Senior Living have announced layoffs with some actions scheduled for November. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor JB Pritzker visited a 26-acre solar farm off U.S. Highway 20 in Hampshire on Oct 14, celebrating its role in powering nearly 600 low-income homes, a local park district and a commercial business—his visit underscored Illinois’ commitment to cleaner and cheaper energy. The project, featuring 12,000 solar panels, will generate 10.7 million kilowatt-hours to offset more than 7,500 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually. Kane County Chronicle
