- ➤ Last Tuesday, flight delays increased at O'Hare when a government shutdown caused staffing shortages and a Ground Delay Program that delayed 25 flights by around 40 minutes between 6 p.m. and 10:59 p.m. Officials warn that if the shutdown continues, holiday travel will be affected as air traffic controllers and TSA officers work without pay—raising safety concerns for future trips.
