  • Kroger recalled two deli pasta salad varieties—Basil Pesto Bowtie Salad and Smoked Mozzarella Penne Salad—from its and Mariano's stores in 28 states, including Illinois, because one ingredient may have been contaminated with listeria; customers are advised to return the products for a full refund or replacement while no illnesses have been reported.  NBC Chicago
  • Kane County Health Department awarded $300K in opioid use prevention, treatment, and recovery grants to seven local organizations. The grants—funded by state opioid response funds—will expand services such as mobile recovery cafés and street outreach to help those affected by opioid use.  Kane County Chronicle
