Good morning, Aurora.
🌲 Environment
Local milkweed plants play a key role in supporting monarch butterflies and other insects that depend on them for food and shelter (they are toxic and should be handled with care).
University Extension highlights common, swamp, and whorled milkweed as vital for boosting local biodiversity.
🏥 Health
Kane Health, teaming with University of Illinois Extension, the Kane County Hunger Relief Network, and other local groups, marks Hunger Action Month to help residents learn about food insecurity.
Throughout September, the campaign will share food resources, offer volunteer opportunities + promote local assistance programs.
