- ➤ A 17-year-old from Aurora was charged with attempted robbery and battery after he hit a 70-year-old man near West Galena Boulevard on Aug. 28; the victim broke his eye socket, was treated at Mercy Medical Center, and the teen was caught after a short foot pursuit — he now is held at the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center. He replaced the salaried staff with a volunteer director as the not-for-profit lost clients and ran a monthly deficit of $27,000. Daily Herald
