Local groups will host a free public forum on data centers on Monday, Aug.
31 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Elgin Community College Siegle Auditorium (1700 Spartan Drive, Building E) where panelists will discuss cooling systems, electricity demand and zoning challenges with Fox Valley residents.
Starting Monday, the SBA opens two disaster loan centers in Kane County — in Hinckley and Hanover Park — to help local businesses, nonprofits and residents apply for storm recovery loans.
Applications for property damage loans are due by Oct. 5 and for economic injury loans by May 5.
🏥 Health
Kane County Health Department will host a free training on recognizing opioid overdoses and administering naloxone at 1240 N.
Highland Ave., Aurora on Aug. 31 from 1-1:30 p.m. The session honors International Overdose Awareness Day and provides participants with a free naloxone kit.
Elijah Rowden, a 5-year-old who loves monster trucks and dinosaurs, faces incurable brain cancer and his family is fundraising to cover over $90,000 in treatment + extra expenses.
They hope community support will let him simply be a kid again.
