  • New England Congregational Church at 406 W. Galena Blvd will host an outdoor fall festival with food, games and activities for all ages at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7 in Aurora—if rain occurs the event will be held in Friendship Hall.  Daily Herald

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Richardson Electronics will invest more than $8.5 million over the next four years to expand manufacturing of green energy products, power grid and microwave tubes at its La Fox plant. The state will offer tax credits to keep 190 jobs and add 54 new full-time positions — a move that supports clean energy and advanced manufacturing.  Kane County Chronicle
