The Christkindlmarket returns this holiday season in three locations, and the Aurora event at RiverEdge Park opens November 21 through December 24 with special hours on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve — details aim to bring festive cheer to local residents.
🎓 Education
Three Chicago high schools — Payton College Preparatory at No. 32, Northside College Preparatory at No. 40, and Lane Technical High School at No. 72 — made the top 100 best high schools in the country according to U.S. News & World Report.
Aurora’s Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy ranked No. 120 nationally and is the highest school outside Chicago in the state.
🏛️ Government
Gov. Pritzker signed a law that raises the age for driving tests for seniors—drivers 79 and older must renew licenses in person and those 87 and older must show they can drive safely—and commercial drivers must test at 75.
AARP praised the change as a step toward fair treatment for all drivers.
