- ➤ Bricks fell from the exterior of the downtown apartment building at 100 E. Galena Blvd, displacing 15 residents and closing westbound lanes on Galena Boulevard between Broadway and La Salle Street as city officials inspect the facade (no injuries were reported) while owners expect residents and two local businesses to return once repairs begin. - ➤ A 10-year-old boy in Montgomery was hit by a vehicle while crossing from a local business along U.S. Route 30 near Horseman Trail last Thursday—he was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora and later to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he died on Saturday. NBC Chicago
