After heavy rains on Friday caused flash flooding in southwest suburbs, residents reported power outages, downed trees, and basements filled with up to three feet of water — local areas in Summit and near 61st Place and 74th Avenue were hardest hit.
Public Works officials said they are cleaning up and asked residents to leave damaged items by their regular garage pick-up by Monday — affected families are urged to document losses for future assistance.
