  • Sugar Grove police arrested 47-year-old Marc Wiskur—who turned himself in—on charges of leaving the scene of an accident that killed 69-year-old Elaine Zielke when she was walking her dog on Oct. 12; he is in Kane County jail and will have a preliminary hearing on July 30.  Kane County Chronicle
  • Officials warn that text messages citing 'State Code 15c-16.003' are scams designed to steal personal and financial information—Illinois Secretary of State Giannoulias and local law enforcement urge residents to ignore these messages and report them to the Federal Trade Commission.  NBC Chicago
