🚨 Crime
Aurora man Michael E.
James, 41, was convicted on May 20 for nine counts of first-degree murder, one count each of armed violence and residential burglary after he fatally shot Edward Smith Jr. during an attempted robbery on December 18, 2021—he has been sentenced to 125 years in prison.
🎭 Culture
His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda, a Himalayan siddha monk and Sanskrit scholar, will lead spiritual events in the Chicago area this August.
The program begins with a free fellowship on Aug.2 at the Unitarian Church of Hinsdale, includes a breathwork workshop on Aug.9-10 at the ISKCON Temple in Naperville, and concludes with a devotional music fellowship on Aug.16 at the Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple in Aurora—all events open to the public.
