Aurora’s Animal Care and Control Division is trying to have 50 dogs and cats adopted by the end of July.

It has lowered fees to $50 for dogs and $30 for cats — the shelter at 600 S. River St. is open from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Election staff from Madison visited Kane County Clerk John Cunningham’s office in Geneva to see a demonstration of vote-by-mail automation that saved over 10,000 staff hours processing more than 49,000 ballots in the 2024 election—Cunningham also highlighted improvements like expanded early voting and a new call center for election day issues.
