- ➤ Today at 3 p.m., the Kane County Fair will open at the Kane County Fairgrounds at 525 S. - ➤ A Des Plaines man, Andrew M. Guca, 51, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty on May 8 for unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver following his June 6 arrest that found 4 kilograms of cocaine valued between $120,000 & $144,000, and he must serve at least 75% of his sentence before parole. The first day to circulate petitions is August 5, and the packets cover positions including clerk, sheriff, treasurer, regional superintendent of schools, precinct committeemen and county board seats.
