COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Forest Preserve District of Kane County will offer a youth kayak fishing program for children in sixth through 12th grade to explore local lakes and build fishing skills using pedal kayaks and professional instruction. Sessions run from July 17 to Aug. 5 at three forest preserves—participants must bring their own snack, tackle box, water and sunscreen and pay a $99 registration fee due one week before the first session.  Kane County Chronicle
  • Five Kane County veterans, including Aurora resident Amy Bergeron, received fully refurbished vehicles from the Project Spark initiative at Soldier Field in Chicago on July 2—Midas and local partners helped break transportation barriers for veterans. The program, which has grown since 2018, donates several vehicles each year to support those in need.  Kane County Chronicle
