Hollywood Casino and Hotel Aurora opened Wednesday, June 25 on Farnsworth Avenue across from Chicago Premium Outlets — replacing a riverboat site — and now offers over 1,000 slot machines, various dining choices including Sorella by Giada, a 226-room hotel and Drift Spa.

A Minnesota-based company, Ideal US Talent Worker OpCo LLC, will lay off nearly 1,400 temporary gig workers on July 1 from five Chicago-area counties (Cook, Kane, Kendall, Lake and McHenry) under the state's WARN Act to restructure operations by moving customer contracts to a third-party partner.
