- ➤ Paramount School of the Arts will stage The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical on June 27 and June 28 at the historic Paramount Theatre in downtown Aurora with more than 50 students bringing Greek mythology to life. - ➤ Indian Prairie Unit District 204 has started a $143 million renovation at Waubonsie Valley High School to improve building circulation and bring in more natural light. The plan features a new open atrium, a shifted main office, a temporary cafeteria for the 2026-27 school year, and stadium upgrades set to start in spring 2026 — most work will occur during summer breaks to lessen impact on the school year. - ➤ On June 10, Kane County’s board approved a $353,071 purchase of a Boston Dynamics Spot mobile robot from FlyMotion LLC—replacing its 27-year-old bomb squad robot—to help disable bombs and perform other tasks while keeping deputies safe. Kane County Chronicle

- ➤ West Aurora's baseball captain Zach Toma pitched a no-hitter in a 9-0 win over Joliet Central two weeks into the season by striking out 20 of 22 batters and also got two hits to help his team reach a 27-8 record. The two-way player — with a 7-2 record and a 1.39 ERA so far — was named Daily Herald All Area Fox Valley baseball captain and will play on a summer travel squad in Alabama this weekend. Daily Herald
- ➤ Owen Roberts helped lead Waubonsie Valley to its first sectional title since 2005 by posting a 0.48 ERA and a .367 batting average during his standout senior season—he was named captain of the DuPage County All-Area baseball team and will join Indiana State this summer to continue both pitching and hitting.
