Aurora police investigated a shooting on the west side Tuesday—officers responded to a battery report on the 700 block of Spruce Street at about 5:15 p.m. and found a man with a single gunshot wound who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Aurora Central Catholic senior Jackson Michels was named Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week after he hit four extra-base hits, drove in 10 runs, and struck out 14 batters in five no-hit innings during the week + an online vote recognized his key role in the team’s four wins.
