  • Aurora police shot and killed a man at 1:30 a.m. on Route 25 near Ashland Avenue during a chase—started when officers searched for a suspect wanted for aggravated battery—after he refused to stop and showed a gun—his car was stopped using tire-deflating spikes—and two officers were placed on administrative leave while the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force investigates.  Kane County Chronicle
