Thomas St. Jules will serve as Kane County 16th Circuit associate judge effective March 31 after a majority of judges selected him to fill the vacancy left when Judge Sandra Parga was elected—he was chosen from a field of 34 applicants with attorney Ericka Thomas as the other finalist.

The Food and Drug Administration announced a recall of nearly 186,000 bags of oyster crackers sold at major retailers in Illinois and 23 other states after tests found possible stainless steel wire contamination — the recalled products are available at Walmart, Target and Giant Eagle. The recall was first issued in February and updated last week, and some products have sell or best by dates in May 2025.
