  • Clocks will spring forward one hour at 2 a.m. CT on Sunday, Mar. 8, marking the earliest possible start of daylight saving time. Aurora residents are advised to adjust sleep schedules ahead of time (experts advise) to ease the transition with later sunrises and sunsets.  NBC Chicago

CULTURE NEWS

  • A rare planetary parade will peak Saturday, Feb. 28, after sunset, with Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn visible if skies remain clear. Residents can also view a blood moon during a lunar eclipse on Tuesday, Mar. 3 — a red spectacle fading as dawn arrives.  NBC Chicago
  • This weekend, St. Charles’ Arcada Theatre stages tribute concerts—George Harrison Saturday at 8 p.m., Taylor Swift Sunday at 3 p.m.—as Geneva Public Library hosts a Wine, Cheese and Trees fundraiser Saturday, Aurora’s Copley Theatre debuts comedy series at 8 p.m., and the Kane County Flea Market opens Saturday and Sunday.  Kane County Chronicle

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Kane County Health and Emergency Management have debuted a mobile shelter system, funded by a CDC grant + tested through recent training, to deliver on-site care during emergencies. The shelter is set to support planned community events like the Special Olympics Polar Plunge in St. Charles on March 8.  Kane County Chronicle
