About this event
Presentation: How Can Instructional Coaching Strengthen PLC+ Teams and Improve Student Learning?
Join instructional coaches Meagan Stass MacDonald and Erika Inka from Barrington Middle School for an engaging workshop at Westmont Junior High that explores how instructional coaching can strengthen PLC+ teams and improve student learning. They will share real experiences coaching PLC+ teams, including their roles, goals, successes, and challenges. Together you’ll hear what’s working, what they’re learning along the way, and how they continue to partner with teams while keeping student learning at the very center of the work.
Coach Collaboration – Guided Dialogue Session
In this guided dialogue session focused on coach collaboration, participants will explore what a successful coaching cycle looks like from start to finish and examine the role student learning data plays at each stage. Through thoughtful conversation and shared insights, coaches will reflect on practical approaches that keep student growth at the center of their work while strengthening collaboration and impact.
Building Our Coaching Community
This open collaboration session gives instructional coaches dedicated time to connect, network, and freely discuss the topics and structures that matter most in their schools. Participants will share ideas, exchange practical strategies, and begin building relationships that can continue throughout the school year and beyond, strengthening both individual coaching practice and the wider coaching community.
Meagan Stass MacDonald’s Bio
I’m an instructional coach at Barrington Middle School Prairie Campus with 17 years in education and 10 years of coaching experience. After working as a math teacher and interventionist, I found my passion in partnering with teachers. I believe in the power of reflection, collaboration, and learning together to strengthen our instruction and support student learning.
Erika Inka’s Bio
I’m in my 12th year as a middle school instructional coach in Barrington. I love partnering with teachers and learning alongside them while we have meaningful conversations about instruction and student learning. I enjoy digging into data, asking questions, and reflecting together on what’s working and where we can grow. My favorite part is seeing teachers and students recognize their own success.
